The LM317 voltage regulator is an adjustable positive-voltage three-terminal regulator capable of providing more than 1.5 A over a 1.25 V output voltage range to 37V (according to lm317 voltage regulator datasheet ). Setting the output voltage requires only two external resistors. The unit has a 0.01 percent standard line regulation and a typical load regulation of 0.1 of a percent. LM317 regulator includes current limits, protection against thermal overload and safe protection of the operating area. Overload protection remains functional even if the ADJUST terminal is disconnected.
